IPC ignite! today announces the appointment of Clair Porteous as publisher of Nuts - the biggest-selling men's weekly in the UK. Clair joined IPC ignite! in 2002 as marketing manager for Loaded and won several IPC marketing awards including marketing manager of the year in 2004 and partnership award in 2005. Clair was pivotal in the launch of category-defining men's weekly Nuts - launching the magazine with a massive 1.15 million sampling campaign - and won the 2005 New Product of the Year Award for the brand at the prestigious Marketing Week Awards. Most recently, as head of marketing of both Nuts and Loaded, she has led the development and implementation of marketing strategies and partnerships across the two iconic brands, re-launching Loaded and consolidating Nuts' position as number one on the newsstand. Clair says: "Nuts is simply one of the best new brands in modern media. It has redefined men's lifestyle publishing and re-engaged men across the UK with its compelling editorial mix in print and online. I'm thrilled at the prospect of taking on this new role and working with such a talented team to drive Nuts forward to even greater success." Jo Smalley, publishing director of Nuts and Loaded, says: "I'm delighted Clair is taking on this key publishing role in ignite! at such an exciting time. She has already proved herself to be an incredibly resourceful and skilful head of marketing, and I know her enormous enthusiasm for the Nuts brand will keep us well ahead of the competition in all media."
