Following the hugely successful and much talked about Shockwaves NME Awards and tour, the world's biggest-selling music weekly - NME - has again teamed up with the UK's leading unisex youth hair styling ranges, Shockwaves, for the 2006 Club NME Tour. Club NME - well established in venues across the UK as the live club night to break the hottest new music - will be sending shockwaves through 16 university towns this autumn with the first ever Shockwaves Presents Club NME on Tour. Headlined by kings of new rave Klaxons, and promising to be a non-stop indie-dance party, the tour begins at Norwich's Waterfront on September 27 and ends at Portsmouth's Wedgewood Rooms on October 17. Klaxons will be joined on the tour by fellow new ravers Simian Mobile Disco, Shitdisco and Datarock. Tickets - priced £7 (or £9 for the London date) - are on general sale now and available through Conor McNicholas, editor of NME, says: "This is a very, very special tour. Bands with the new rave sound are at the forefront of a new movement in youth culture and NME is the first to bring three of them together on one bill. It's going to be something very different. It's going to be fabulous mayhem. It's going to take the roof off." - ends - ShockWaves Presents Club NME On Tour dates in full: September 27 - Norwich Waterfront 28 - Stoke Underground 29 - Liverpool Stanley Theatre 30 - Sheffield Plug October 2 - Middlesbrough Empire 3 - Manchester Academy 4 - Aberdeen Tunnels 5 - Glasgow Arches 7 - Leeds Faversham 8 - Nottingham Stealth 10 - Birmingham Custard Factory 11 - Northampton Soundhaus 13 - London KOKO 14 - Brighton Concorde 16 - Oxford Zodiac 17 - Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms For further information contact Anna Gawan, press officer, IPC Media on 020 7261 6575 or email
