Since its launch in 2012, Woman’s Weekly Live has quickly become a major part of the brand’s consumer offering, with 10,000 visitors attending the show over three days in Manchester, UK. The event provides a unique opportunity for the audience to experience workshops and demonstrations delivered personally by the Woman’s Weekly brand team, including cookery, knitting, craft, fiction writing, fashion, gardening and much more.

The Facts

  • The audience travel from far and wide to be at the show. In 2012 one reader flew in from Cape Town, South Africa to attend the first ever show – that’s a round trip of over 12,000 miles.
  • During the course of each show over 100 workshops and demonstrations take place.
  • For the 2013 show, a charity campaign was introduced with local Manchester homeless charity, Barnabus. Readers knitted an astonishing 8,500 knitted hats that were then distributed to homeless people in the region.
  • The now annual ‘Fastest Knitter Competition’ last year saw winner Margaret Elliott knit an astonishing 156 stitches in just three minutes.
  • Each year over 2,000 Woman’s Weekly goody bags are sold at the event, along with over 1,500 pieces of Woman’s Weekly merchandise and more than 7,000 magazines.
